In December 2006, Waterbury Mayor, Michael Jarjura and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. David Snead convened a group of community stakeholders to develop a comprehensive plan to help our children succeed. Connecticut Early Childhood Educational Cabinet through the State Department of Education, the William C. Graustein Memorial Fund, the United Way of Greater Waterbury and the Connecticut Community Foundation have provided the community with the funds and the support to collectively create an in-depth plan known as Bridge To Success. This roadmap for action shows how schools, business, parents and the community can work together to build the bridges that will enable the successful development of local youth from birth through 21.
