Summer Camp at Camp Kiwanis Highlights

Our campers this summer participated in a myriad of experiences. Our campers explored the lake and discovered lots of interesting creatures like lake mussels, snails, frogs, fish, and all kinds of bugs! They did yoga with Corina Parkmond from Please Breathe Yoga in Waterbury. Youth enjoyed solar energy experiments, lots of sports and athletic activities, daily nature walks, arts and crafts and science activities. Our campers also enjoyed a special day of face painting and henna tattoos from Caitlyn McClure, owner of UnInkable Artistry-Catie Marie Henna.

Thanks to a generous book donation from Waterbury Reads, all campers got to take home at least 2 books to continue the daily reading we did throughout camp.

At the end of camp, staff held a multicultural potluck as part of our "Around The World Week" series in which staff made a dish from their own cultures to share with campers.

Campers were overjoyed and immersed themselves in all the fun that summer camp brings. We created so many lasting memories with our staff and campers, and look forward to hosting camp again next year.

We appreciate all the hard work, passion, and joy our dedicated WYS camp staff put in this year.
