The youth in this group have shown initiative, dedication to community service, leadership, citizenship, or some combination of these traits. YET allows the participating youth to utilize their strengths to achieve the group’s goals while further developing their leadership skills. WYS’s Youth Council groups in the past have taken on community service projects, volunteer events, attended trainings and conferences, and were trained on and consequently wrote and performed a play on the dangers of drug use among their peers.
